Research

Current research by Martijn Rademakers is focused on the way organizations renew, implement and optimize strategy through learning. The field is known as ‘corporate universities’ or ‘corporate academies’. His latest book ‘Corporate Universities: Aanjagers van de lerende organisatie’ was publised in April 2012. A new, international book on this topic, published by Routledge, is forthcoming in 2013. The research output of dr. Rademakers covers articles, book reviews, business cases (in particular on companies in the food- and agribusiness and the international water industry), conference papers and chapters in books on strategy, corporate universities, and inter-firm cooperation. He also contributed to the 3rd and 4th editions and the teaching guide of the internationally leading textbook on strategic management, Strategy - Process, Content, Context: An International Perspective, as well as the 3rd edition of Strategy Synthesis (2010).

Biography

Dr. Martijn F.L. Rademakers is managing director of the Center for Strategy & Leadership, an international research, consulting and management development organization. In addition, dr. Rademakers is a faculty member of TiasNimbas Business School, visiting faculty at the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University), and Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands, and visiting professor at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, Steinbeis University in Germany. Dr. Rademakers is also founding board member of the Dutch Foundation for Corporate Universities.

Dr. Rademakers holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, an MA in Policy and Organization Sciences from Tilburg University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The Hague Polytechnic in the Netherlands.

For more than 15 years, dr. Rademakers has designed and taught numerous executive and in-company management programs on strategy and leadership at business schools, universities, corporate academies and international corporations across a variety of industries and countries. He also works as a strategy consultant and councellor, providing strategy process facilitation, second opinions and advice for companies and non-profit organizations.

The research output of dr. Rademakers covers articles, book reviews, business cases, conference papers and chapters in books on strategy, corporate universities, and inter-firm cooperation. He also contributed to the 3rd and 4th editions and the teaching guide of the internationally leading textbook on strategic management, Strategy - Process, Content, Context: An International Perspective, as well as the 3rd edition of Strategy Synthesis (2010).

Martijn Rademakers is married and has two children. He is active at taekwondo and as a soccer trainer, and an avid motorcyclist.
