Support at Your Service TiasNimbas has entered a covenant with the Netherlands Ministry of Justice which grants us access to the advanced procedure for visa applications. We will help you apply for entry visas if required and can inform you of the costs involved. From our prospective students applying for a full-time programme we ask that they supply us with the requested documents and assistance.
Visa and Permits for the International Full-Time MBA
Normally, the following are required: - a copy of your acceptance letter (provided by us);
- a copy of all relevant pages of your passport (pages with print, stamps or notes);
- proof of sufficient funding, either by you, by a sponsor or jointly;
- proof of health insurance (TiasNimbas can assist you with this coverage for Europe).
Dependant on your nationality, additional requirements may be made by the Ministry. We will gladly provide you with further information. It is important to note that under Dutch immigration laws a visa obtained through TiasNimbas always is restricted to a stay for the purpose of studies. This implies full-time studies and no paid or unpaid work for the duration of your studies.
Residence PermitAll students with nationalities from countries outside the European Union will have to apply for a residence permit for study purposes. Again we can inform you of the costs involved and will assist you with your application for the residence permit. Through a close working relationship with the responsible authorities TiasNimbas seeks to limit the burden for its students to the utmost. Overseas students must have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay in The Netherlands – this is a pre-requisite for obtaining a residence permit. After GraduationAs of 1 January 2009, the Netherlands Ministry of Justice has implemented an Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Migrants. This scheme entails that foreign nationals who have graduated with an MBA degree from TiasNimbas Business School can obtain a residence permit with a maximum term of 1 year in The Netherlands to find a job as a highly-skilled migrant or to start an innovative company. This scheme seeks to ensure that the foreign, exceptional talents coming to The Netherlands, those who can create economical added value for the country, are more easily admitted to The Netherlands. As soon as the graduate has found a job making him eligible for highly-skilled migrant status (i.e., within a term of at most 1 year), he can convert the one-year residence permit into a residence permit as a highly-skilled migrant. Read more about the Admission Scheme for Highly Educated Migrants. If you have any questions feel free to contact your programme adviser. |
Uday Bapat International Full-Time MBA 2009-2010
Previous degree: BE in Engineering Shivaji University, India
Previous position: Engineer, Tata Group
I started my career as a trainee engineer with the Tata Group in India where I not only learned a lot about power plants and power systems, but also about corporate social responsibility.
After 10 years in engineering and project management, I wanted to gain a broader, well-rounded skill-set, a grounding in multiple subjects and business disciplines. When I chose the TiasNimbas Full-Time MBA as the catalyst to transform me into a focused business professional, I considered factors such as course structure, class size, faculty, rankings and views from previous students.
Right from the beginning, my overall experience at TiasNimbas has been overwhelming! I am taking up studies after a long gap, but the course design helped me to ease into a fast-moving analytical programme. Working in small study groups in a collaborative way not only helps me to understand team dynamics in a highly international environment, but also to better grasp the subject.
The faculty deserves special mention in that they exemplify an excellent mix of academic and international business experience. The most impressive experience so far is the interaction with a diverse class of students from 21 nationalities. The smaller class size makes it easy to build good relations with peers.
After acquiring business administration tools by going through the intensive curriculum, having guidance from experienced faculty and interaction with active alumni, I look forward to an optimistic future! |
