PMC Workplaces: Focused HR Research

PMC research covers three specific ‘workplaces: SHRM, HRD, and Psychological Contract and Engagement.

Knowledge sharing within and between workplaces delivers useful multidisciplinary insights.

Strategic HRM Workplace

Focus: Alignment of HR strategy and company’s corporate vision; HR and performance of individuals and organisations; relationships with other functional disciplines like finance and ICT; HR aspects of leadership and change management, including cutting edge issues like ageing and remote working.

Human Resources Development Workplace

Focus: (Management) development, learning and training issues/questions related to performance of individuals and organisations. 

This is taken from the individual perspective of the involved manager/employee (learning) and from the perspective of the organisation (added value).

Psychological Contract and Engagement Workplace

Focus: Relationships between involvement of managers; employees and performance. Relationships with age (ageing) and diversity. Technology and outcomes of (world-wide) engagement research. Translation of outcomes engagement research into strategies and HR policies.

Academic Director & Chair Strategic HRM Workplace

Prof. Dr. Jaap Paauwe Prof. dr. Jaap Paauwe is an internationally-known HR scholar and educator. He is Academic Director of the executive Advanced Human Resource Programme and has written the award-winning book HRM and Performance.


Chair Psychological Contract and Engagement Workplace


Prof. dr. René Schalk Prof. dr. René Schalk's areas of expertise are organisational change; job motivation; labour and health; and organisation.
 



Psychological Contract and Engagement Workplace

Prof. dr Marc van Veldhoven Prof. dr. Marc van Veldhoven is a Work and Organisational Psychologist specialising in HRM, well-being and performance.



Chair Human Resources Development Workplace


Prof. dr. Rob Poell Prof. dr. Rob Poell's specific interest is in the organisation of learning in the workplace and the strategies used in that respect by employees, managers, and HRD professionals. His area of expertise is Human Resource Development. This encompasses all aspects of learning, training, education, development, and change in organisations and their employees.
