Taipei is Taiwan's capital city as well as its economic, political, and cultural center. It is a lively and diversified modern cosmopolitan metropolis. Taipei has a population of nearly 3 million. It boasts dozens of world-class performance venues, where you can enjoy fabulous theater and concert events. The city also offers a wide range of shopping malls, nightclubs, live-music bars, quality hotels, and exotic restaurants. It is where the world’s tallest building, Taipei 101, is located. The Taoyuan International Airport is just 40 minutes away by car.
Taiwan is home to some of the most important but anonymous tech outfits in the world: Asustek Computer, whose factories spit out iPods and Mini Macs for Apple; and Quanta Computer, the No. 1 global maker of notebook PCs and a key supplier to Dell and Hewlett-Packard; TSMC, the biggest chip foundry on the planet, an essential partner to U.S. companies such as Qualcomm and Nvidia; Hon Hai Precision Industry, which makes everything from PC components to Sony's PlayStation 2; and Flextronics, the world's biggest contract manufacturer. An article published by Business Week in its May 2005 issue describes Taiwan as the hidden center of the global economy.
The TiasNimbas Representative Office for East Asia Office is located in the very centre of Taipei, situated in the beautifully refurbished former Post Office, opposite Taipei Railway Station. From this convenient location we will continue to serve you with our admission, pre-departure, alumni and corporate services. You’re most welcome to visit us here!
