Utrecht has enjoyed a long history at the centre of The Netherlands. From Roman times onwards it has been a centre of trade moving across Europe. Control of Utrecht has changed many times; from being part of the low-country possessions of the Burgundians to being a strong commercial centre in the time of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and then to forming a key province within The Netherlands. Utrecht is therefore a very European city.
The city has a population of 307,000 of which 65,000 are students. This gives one of the highest ratios of student populations in The Netherlands. 23% of all Utrechters are students! Utrecht enjoys access to The Netherlands airports (Schiphol 35 mins, Rotterdam 50 mins) and also easily reachable by train from Brussels (3 hours), Paris (4.5 hours) and Amsterdam (30 mins). It is the perfect base from which to explore European culture and to visit other neighbouring countries. The Netherlands enjoys excellent public transport infrastructure.

Our graduation day is held around the corner in the Utrecht Dom Cathedral under the imposing 12th century vaulted ceilings. You will walk with your fellow students, families and friends, dressed in academic gowns to take part in an impressive British-style ceremony. We make it a wonderful day to celebrate your achievement of your Master degree.
